Yes, that time of year is here... Black Friday. A time for mass consumerism and consuming mass quantities. I, however am to broke to catch allll the sales. I did manage to get in on a few though :)

I have been watching the new season of American Horror Story, and while I have not made up mind if I like it so far....I am enjoying Lady Gaga's part in it. I think she looks beautiful, amazing and glamorous. So much so, that I felt inspired to try and capture a little bit of that glamour while I played dress up tonight :)

Had some time tonight after a round of freebie hunting, so I thought I'd do a quick post. I found some cute glasses at Nerdy girl, free group gift :) They come with a color hud, and two versions, clear lenses and tinted. I also picked up some free tattoos at Isuka. If you join the group you can grab 3 free tatts - they come with appliers and system layers. In honor of October 1st, I am wearing the Halloween monster tatts, colorful and kooky :)
I was sorting through all the shoes in my inventory, separating the Maitreya from the Slinks.... the organizing OCD had kicked in lol. I realized I had quite a few shoes that came with color huds, and while that is great, a girl needs shoes in ALLL the colors, I usually end up only wearing my shoes in a couple of colors; black or red.
So I started playing around with the shoes huds for a while. I decided to challenge myself to create a look using a color that is normally outside my comfort zone, and then I would have to blog it. This did two things for me. One, it gave me something to do, and two, it forced me into doing blog stuff lol - I get quite lazy with the blogging :P
I chose to use yellow for this challenge. It is a color that I really like, but do not wear in RL or SL. In RL, yellow looks very bad against my skin color....so I have just always shied away from wearing it. But in SL, we can change our skin with a simple click , then we can wear w/e color tickles our fancy :D

....PINK always makes me feel better :) This cute hair is just one of many gorgeous things found at this round of Collabor88. I am planning another trip there as I write this :P. Yesterday was Friday, which means it was time for Fifty Linden Friday. I got this lovely Glam Affair skin for FLF. It came with one other skin tone, Jamaica. Often the GA skins get left out for the weekend, so if you hurry on over there, you may be able to still grab it for 50L :D
I did a little bit of shopping and I actually made it to a few events this week. There are so many events it is hard to keep up with them all. That is really OK with me though. I don't have the time or the money to even try and think about getting to them all lol. Wish I did, have both time and money o.O. Anywayyyy.... I found so many fabulous things at every place I went!!! But, .... I had to keep my buying under some sort of control. So here is and outfit I put together with a few of the items I decided on :)

Pure Poison is one of my fave stores in SL, they have tons of high quality shoes and accessories. The group gifts are also FANTASTIC, and there are a ton of them. Also, group members have access to the group gacha machines, and get one FREE pull on each of them. The new gacha is super cute pair of open toed pumps. I got the cayene color.... a very nice shade of red :) I happen to love red, soooo go me :D Currently, the group is FREE to join - so join up, and get your goodies. The freebies, of course, are amazing, but check out the rest of the store too. There are so many cute shoes, I especially love the sandals there. All the shoes fit mesh feet too, just an FYI :)
The skin in the first couple shots is by Birdy, it used to be one the VIP group gifts. As far as I can tell, the previous gifts are no longer available. But there a couple of other FREE group gift skins there right now :) I love Birdy skins a lot. I find that I wear the old group gift one, Brooke more than my other skins. It has a very unique look, and well.... I just like it :P
Since there are newer group gifts at Birdy, I took a couple of extra shots of my AV wearing them, that I will post also. I have this weird obsession in SL.......and that is......LBDs! Yes, little black dresses. I have a big folder just for them. When I see a new one, I want it immediately lol. Maybe someday I will do a post on all my favorite ones :P When mesh clothes became available I was sooooo happy, mostly because that meant I could finally buy an LBD without that damn prim flap we had to wear with skirts and dresses. Oh how I hated that prim flap >< Anywayyyy.....when I saw this dress by Valentina E. at uber, I was doomed and had to buy it. sigh.
Also I grabbed the June group gift at Beusy, the cute and punky bob hairstyle ....and it was FREE! love it :)

I am giving my blog a little bit of attention today, as it has been neglected for more months than I feel like counting :P I am currently without a working PC and have been for sometime. I do however, now have use of my laptop. This is good and bad lol. Good that I have a computer to use..... Bad, because running SL on it, sucks super hard. I can run it, but only barely with all the graphics turned as far down as they will go. Soooo, taking great pics.... yea not going to happen on the lappie. I also only have shared wifi atm, also not conducive for a smooth SL playing experience.
BUT, things could be worse, right. These minor problems in the grand scheme of things are just not so bad. I take what I can get :) I still like to log in, shop and freebie hunt through my excruciating lag :P As the old saying goes .... "it hurts to be beautiful"!
Which brings me to my intended topic for today: Freebie Hunting :) I keep a strict budget for SL, so when my hard earned Ls run out, I have freebie hunting to satiate my need to shop. Also freebie hunting allows me to be introduced to a creator's work that may be new to me, giving me a taste of what they have to offer. And the hunt itself is enjoyable for me. It is a win win situation :)
So, I decided to list a few of the SL fashion freebie resources that I find extremely valuable. Some of these may be old news to most, some might be brand spankin new. Either way, it is my intention to pass them along, in hopes it might help out my fellow fashionista brothers and sisters :)

Dancing in the Square - Pretty much everything shown/blogged are freebies. She puts together some of the cutest looks, all made up from freebies. This is a must read blog if you are an habitual freebie hunter!
Fab Free - One of the longest running and most well known fashionista freebie blogs and groups in SL. Go there, read it, love it. Their community Flickr site is also a must see. Anyone that adds a pic, must have a freebie or cheapie (75L or under) as part of the outfit. An absolutely cannot-do-without SL freebie resource. Fab Free also has an in-world store full of all free items, you can check it out here.
A World in a Grain of Sand - A very well put together simple fashion blog. She showcases primarily free fashion items. She creates very classy and pretty looks that are presented with a great eye for photography. A really lovely avatar with great backgrounds and set ups. Another go-to SL fashion freebie blog, for sure.
SL Free & Offers (SL F & O) - Freebie blog and group that showcases as many freebies from around the grid as they can possibly find! It also has many stores participating in exclusive gifts just for group members. The in-world group is absolutely amazing, truly it is. It is a very chatty well moderated group, full of many many helpful people. If you have a question about pretty much anything SL fashion and freebie related - you will definitely find an answer or be directed as to where to find that answer. It also a great place to just chat about fashion and meet other like minded residents. Join up, you will wonder how you lived with out it :)
Happily, Ever After in Second Life - Gorgeous fashion blog! Really, her avatar is beautifully put together and she does it using quite a lot of super great freebie finds. I would say (on average more or less) about half n half - half freebies, half full priced and sale items. She also writes a lot, so its not just pics and item lists. She has stuff to say, and I really enjoy that. Makes her seem, to me, really personable and relate-able. I also really like the way she incorporates the free stuff into her looks, really builds on her avatar...giving each look a lot of personality. Makes this blog not just a valuable freebie resource, but a valuable fashion resource.
